For the dogs, Foto Friday

It was not easy to get shots with his mouth closed.

This was the hardest shot to get, but isn't he adorable.

He really didn't want to be sitting there, but he was good.

He's a big guy. I'm short anyway, 5 feet tall, and this guy when he stands on all fours, his nose is at my shoulder. He would tower over me if he stood on his hind legs.

This is the therapy dog I drew. He really didn't want to sit for these shots, there was a soccer game going on across the field and he wanted to go play with the kids and get the ball. He would keep looking over at them and sniffing the air, he was cute.

Saint Bernards are beautiful dogs. The big droopy jowls seem to be pulling down the eyelid a little bit and makes him look sad though.

If I may, a couple suggestions on your article:

You should include foto-friday as a tag, it will help the foto-friday audience find your article and you're cheating yourself by not including it.

Also intended to help drive pageviews for NVP members is the group's brand imaging.

Also, if you don't want the 'Type your comment here' in the article, I would use the 'write article' option over 'post photo (this article will give you a walk-through, if needed) - or you can use the 'post photo option and duplicate your comment 1 in the article.

The people in this circle are pretty friendly, all you need to do is ask and someone will help you to figure it out.

I recognize the photo you used for your drawing Tess.

I did dog portraits at a kennel that had a bring your dog party. I had to shoot photos of them and then work off of the camera to draw them. Trying to draw dogs as they were partying with other dogs was just too hard. LOL

I love closeups of animal faces; they have such expression. And Number 3 makes him look so dignified -- a very nice portrait! And I hope he got a bit of a reward for being so good about posing.

LOL! When I first read your comment, I was thinking, "Drew? Drew from where? Some kind of therapy dog pool?" And then my brain went, "Duh! Drew as in draw..." These are great pictures! You captured the dog's expressive face very well.

A nice photo essay that captures the dog's personality.

But if you ever need rescuing from a flood, burning building, etc. just hang on to the BIG dog, Da.

What a beautiful dog and its used as a therapy dog. Therapy dogs have done so much good for the sick and old. Often when people cannot relate to other people, they still can relate to dogs. The positive change I have seen in people is nothing short of a miracle.

Beautiful pictures. Love the close-up. You caught the St. Bernard's spirit. I had a lot of experience with these dogs and they are a handful. Most are big and gentle, sloppy, sweet natured...not overly intelligent, but love affection and play. It must have been difficult to get that big baby to stay put, I can see his attention was somewhere else.

I really enjoyed seeing your pictures today. It brought back wonderful memories. Thank you.
